About 5 Kingsmead
Where Singapore’s artistic heritage lives and breathes.
Officially launched in October 2025, 5 Kingsmead is a landmark arts and heritage site in Singapore. Once the residence of renowned Singapore pioneer artist Chen Wen Hsi (1906-1991), the property is today home to Singapore art collector Audrey Koh and her family.
At the heart of the site is a remarkable double-sided wall featuring two monumental mural paintings by Chen Wen Hsi - measuring 178 × 420 cm and 178 × 194 cm - that have remained on site since the 1960s. 5 Kingsmead is the only private residence in Singapore that has been marked as a historic site under two categories by the National Heritage Board, specifically culture and community, and art.
5 Kingsmead also houses the Aurevia Art Collection, which extends beyond Chen’s historic murals to include works by some of Singapore’s most important artists. Amongst them are Georgette Chen, Chen Wen Hsi, Chen Chong Swee, Cheong Soo Pieng, Fan Chang Tien, Lim Hak Tai, Liu Kang, Lim Yew Kuan, Wong Keen, Chua Chon Hee, Lim Soo Ngee, and Oh Chai Hoo - a collection that reflects both the depth of Singapore’s artistic heritage and its evolving creative spirit.
